Keynote speakers include Michael Snyder of Made in Space and John Mulholland of Boeing CST-100. Mr. Snyder’s Saturday keynote, “In Space Manufacturing: The Next Gateway to Space,” will focus on 3-D printing. Mr. Mullholland’s Sunday keynote, “Boeing CST-100 puts Astronauts on ISS with Style,” will provide an update on the crew transportation program.

On Saturday, participants will be able to attend seven break-out sessions, with three choices during most sessions. On Sunday, participants will attend the “Rocky Road to Space Settlement” panel and workshop-style sessions on (choice of) space settlement, advocacy, and outreach. The presenters are experts in their fields of rocket science, asteroid hunting, asteroid mining, satellites, space-based solar power, lunar colonization, Mars exploration, advocacy, and more.

Beyond presentations, panels, and keynotes, several special events are planned, including:

  • A tour of the Washington University Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences laboratory, including a full-size model of Spirit/Opportunity
  • A St. Louis Space Retrospective to honor the work of early St. Louis space pioneers, held at Boeing’s Prologue Room (in conjunction with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics)
  • A networking Saturday lunch to interact with like-minded space enthusiasts and informal Sunday brunch to enjoy new-found friends
  • A bookclub-style discussion of Ann Leckie’s award-winning novel Ancillary Justice (bring your book to get a bookplate signed by the author)
  • A tour of the Greater St. Louis Air and Space Museum
  • And: the conference chair’s favorite event… The Cosmic Celebration to celebrate the cosmos thru the arts: poetry, visual arts, music, a galactic fashion show, and a spacey photo booth.
