This is not an OASIS event. ============================= Western Museum of Flight Celebrity Lecture Series February 21, 2009 11:00 AM The Legend of Pancho Barnes and the Happy Bottom Riding Club Produced and Presented by Nick T. Spark (In Affiliation with KOCE-TV) Florence"Pancho"Barnes was one of the most important women in 20th Century aviation. A tough and fearless pilot, Pancho flew on Amelia Earhart's wingtip, performed as a barnstormer throughout California, and made a name for herself as Hollywood's first female stunt pilot in the 1920's and 30's. Before WWII, she opened a ranch near Edwards Air Force Base that became a famous/notorious hangout for test pilots and moviestars. Known as the Happy Bottom Riding Club, it became the epicenter of the aviation world during the early Jet Age. Join us to hear Producer Nick Spark share the making of his new film and enjoy a sneak preview of the legendary Pancho Barnes story. The lecture is free to Museum Members.
