We think many of you might be interested in this event. This is not an OASIS event. ======================================================== Western Museum of Flight Celebrity Lecture Series August 15 - 11 am Flight Testing the Northrop Flying Wings The N-1 to the B-2 Bill Flanagan The B-2 Spirit bomber is the ultimate development of the Northrop Flying Wing series. But this magnificent aircraft is actually the culmination of decades of flying wing evolution, starting with the Northrop N-1, in the 1930's. Bill Flanagan should know. He has made a thorough study of the emergence of all-wing aircraft, a study that culminated for him in his role as flight test Weapon System Operator (WSO) for Northrop Grumman. In this role, he has logged more than 500 flying hours. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Bill completed a highly successful career in the US Air Force - completing 169 combat missions in the RF-4C, then completed test pilot training, and achieved qualification in a wide variety of combat, reconnaissance and transport aircraft. Bill has lived his share of the history as well as studying it. Bill has prepared a fascinating presentation of the history of the flying wing development, and will also share some of his experiences flying the B-2. Please join us on Saturday, 15 August, for this interesting and informative event. The lecture is free to Museum Members.
